CALIFORNIA IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA
OK! So now you know a little bit about me, it is time to start with the first official article and I begin with what’s still pretty new and fresh - my trip to America where I traveled with my boyfriend Lukas for a month. Although I came back a month ago, I’m still there in my mind. First, it’s important to know, part of my family lives there, in San Francisco, to be specific. I always visited them with my parents since I was little, we traveled a lot and saw so many places. America is a place with a special place in my heart and I always wanted to live there. I feel like I’m more home there then here in Czech. L. totally agrees with me and now we go there together almost every year. That incredible light, nature everywhere, possibilities and opportunities. I would like to show you here my favourite places and maybe give you some tips for your next trip.
I start with San Francisco. It’s an unbelievably colourful city full of various flavours, smells and people. You can find million amazing coffee shops there and stores from which you will leave with your empty wallets because of Californian taxes…sunsets are pretty from every corner and angle and in every park you will smell the eucalyptus tree. We always stay in Sunset District where every house is different and similar at the same time, in front of every house there are flower beds full of HUGE succulents and cactuses. Near our house was the General Store - my top favourite, unfortunately very expensive. But everything is handmade, from locals, plus they have the cutest little greenhouse on their backyard where you can just chill and take some photos for your Instagram (like I did heh). If you want to spend even more money, go to the Fillmore Street. It’s full of cute shops and especially my favourite one - Credo Beauty where you can get only natural cosmetics. To buy a perfect pair of jeans, go to Lucky Brand, for chocolate lovers like me there is the Dandelion Chocolate, the smell is heavenly. And now here’s the thing. I don’t drink coffee but I love to go to coffee shops. I quit drinking coffee 2 years ago, right after we got back from US again and the reason? I was just over caffein and I needed a break, especially from an American coffee, cause it’s super strong. My favourite ones in SF are Four Barrel Coffee. The interior is just amazing. There is no need to write about other perfectly looking coffee shops with super strong coffee and sweet pastries. Others are Sightglass Coffee, Réveille Coffee Co., Hollow, Tartine Manufactory, which is also a bakery and a perfect place for lunch / dinner - Outerlands. If you run out of money, go to see beautiful beaches with a view of Golden Gate Bridge - Marshall’s Beach, Baker Beach, to see a beautiful sunset go to the Lands End and Sutro Baths - ruins of historical pool complex. Twin Peaks are perfect for a sunrise and definitely go to the Golden Gate Park or Presidio.
PS: next time I’m gonna show you other beautiful places from Oregon and Washington, so stay tuned!
