Phone Editing tips for your Instagram & Stories
I’ve been getting lot of questions in DMs about my edits. How did I create this? What type of filter did I use? Etc. So I’ve decided to write a brief list of which apps I use on my iPhone for my Instagram photos and videos (Stories).
VSCO is probably my favorite app for editing on my iPhone. Most of the time I use A4, A6 and M5 and filters. What I really like right now is the option to adjust specific colors - HSL. I often desaturate yellow a bit, sometimes I play with Shadows Tint (specifically I like to add a little bit of orange). Grain is fun too but be careful, it doesn’t look nice when there's too much of it. And that’s where I would like to move to another app - Afterlight 2.
2. AFTERLIGHT 2
I like to use this app mostly for the grain and dust effects. It gives you a nice look of an old analog photo. But again - be careful and don't add to much of it. Sometimes I adjust shadows because this is what I really miss about VSCO. You can only move the shadow slide up to get it lighter but not the opposite way around which can be handy sometimes.
From time to time I use this app for small retouching. If you don’t want to use Photoshop and you just want to delete one small mark on the wall really quick. Here I got rid of the power cable behind Hugo.
Unfold is becoming really popular right now. It’s an app where you can put together more photos/videos and create really nice layouts for your Instagram Stories. It has a really nice minimalistic look and it’s fun!
Now let’s move to video editing. 8mm gives super vintage look and adds noise to your videos. I only use it when I'm feeling it. You can choose from many filters including some moody black and white ones.
It may be very useful if you're planning to post a video to your Instagram Stories longer than 15 seconds. Just import a video and this app cut it for you. Simple and quick! It has a little watermark on the side but for a small fee you can delete it.
Now your turn! I gave you some tips, now give me your favorite apps or fun little tips I can use on my phone. Just comment down bellow.
